Love at first sight for the pianoforte. Fiammetta Corvi was three years old when she fell in love with the instrument: “With my parents I was visiting acquaintances who had a baby grand piano and seeing this instrument for the first time made a great impression on me”. Familiarity, however, began ten years later, with initial studies in Como and later in Brescia, obtaining her diploma in 1997. Bach, Chopin, Debussy and Liszt are among her preferred composers.
Fiammetta Corvi's studies continued abroad, with masterclasses in France, England and Milan; in the Lombard capital she took lessons with pianists of the calibre of Aldo Ciccolini and Paul Badura Skoda.
In the summer of 2002 she attended a specialisation course at the Jean Philippe Rameau Conservatoire in Paris: this international experience would prove to be key to her development. In the French capital she met leading figures such as the composer Nicolas Bacri, the violinist Pierre Hommage, the clarinettist Paolo Beltramini and the pianists Yves Henry and Mireille Faye-Mora.
She continues to study with Maestro Riccardo Bettini and currently with M. Fabio Bidini and Beatrice Puiu.
“The pianoforte is a continuous study”, explains Fiammetta. “Just when you think you understand everything, you realise there is still a universe
It is precisely this attitude of profound humility, united with great determination and wonder for music, that has allowed her to reach ever more important goals.
“Just as the sculptor creates a statue from a piece of marble, we pianists, with our interpretation, accomplish a creative act, giving shape to a musical work”.
Since 1997 Fiammetta Corvi has given concerts in Italy and abroad. Como, Brescia, Verona, Milan, St. Moritz, Budapest, St. Petersburg, Vilnius, Riga, Tallinn and Minsk: these are some of the cities in which Fiammetta has performed, meeting with much public and critical approval.
“Playing live is the greatest satisfaction, because it allows me to convey emotions through the music”.
“Playing the pianoforte is a discipline that opens the mind and the heart and I adore teaching it”.
Fiammetta Corvi is also a teacher of pianoforte.
Over the years she has worked with various schools, including the Scuola di Musica “Paolo Chimeri” in Lonato (BS), the Scuola Media “Anna Frank” in Varese, the Scuola Superiore “Dante Alighieri” and the Istituto Suore Canossiane in Como.
“Music expresses what can not be said and where it is impossible to remain silent”.
Recorded in Verona in 2016, the CD Fiammetta Corvi in Concert is available since March 2017, featuring an exciting program covering Mozart, Chopin, Brahms and Granados.
